DFS previously completed MCRT’s space on the 11th floor and were honored to be asked back to complete their expansion onto the 10th floor. The scope included a full floor office buildout as well as a feature staircase at the center of the suite. MCRT had new hires starting but no place to put them so time was of the essence.
There were several challenges to the project but the team came together to successfully overcome them and deliver a high quality space on time. The first challenge was cutting a massive hole in the 11th floor slab to install the new staircase without disturbing daily operations. The team installed temporary walls around the future stair location a month early so they could begin work while the office was closed during the holidays.
Another challenge was the age of the building. The uneven floor slabs had to be leveled, transitions reconfigured, doorways cut, and wood tapered at the elevator doors to avoid realigning the elevators.
