Locust Street Group Wins CREDA DC|MD Award of Excellence
The Locust Street Group project won the CREDA DC|MD Award of Excellence for Best Interior 10,001–25,000 SF at last week’s Awards of Excellence Gala, which honors the region’s top commercial real estate projects. Congratulations to the project teams behind this achievement!
Spanning 11,684 square feet over the full 10th floor, this workspace was built to impress at every level, from the tenant floors to the rooftop. One of the highlights is a private rooftop retreat outfitted with Bison pavers, planters, and high-end patio furniture, framed by stucco-finished stair towers and screen walls. A dedicated elevator runs from the top floor directly to the rooftop.
On the tenant floors, a strategically placed skylight brings in natural light, and a stain-grade walnut and veneer millwork package carries through the elevator surrounds, feature walls, and a custom bookcase in the CEO’s office. The main conference room is outfitted with Muraflex operable partitions so the space can open up for larger gatherings or close off for privacy.
The most memorable detail is one you might walk right past: a hidden millwork door that opens into a private speakeasy, complete with a bar and a living green wall. It gives the team an exclusive retreat without ever leaving the office.
