ANCC Aquatic Center Wins NAIOP Award of Excellence

The Army Navy Country Club Aquatic Center received the Award of Excellence for Amenity Space from the NAIOP Virginia Chapter at last night’s awards gala. Congratulations to the outstanding project teams behind this remarkable achievement!

The newly developed facility boasts a range of impressive features catering to various needs. It incorporates two offices thoughtfully designed for ANCC employees, ensuring their capacity to host guests comfortably. In addition to this, our comprehensive redesign efforts encompassed the transformation of a “Leisure Pool” into an engaging space complete with a wading area and an array of exciting pool features designed for kids. Meanwhile, we introduced modifications to an adults-only relaxation pool and executed a meticulous refinishing of a full-sized Olympic pool. Elevating the experience further, we constructed two relaxation sun decks at pool level, one of which features an elegant radius design. To provide an elevated vantage point, a rooftop “observation deck” was created, offering spectators a captivating bird’s-eye view of competitive swim meets. The facility’s expansion also included the incorporation of two new structures housing four family-style bathrooms with showers, as well as two gender-specific restrooms with shower facilities. Beyond enhancing comfort, we ensured the functional aspects by incorporating storage and equipment pump rooms, complemented by brand-new heaters for all pools. For indulgence, we introduced two outdoor “pool bars,” allowing patrons to enjoy beverages poolside, along with a well-equipped food preparation kitchen. Lastly, the complex is encircled by custom decorative aluminum fencing, blending aesthetics with functionality seamlessly.
